The state has received more than its typical share of rain this month. For example, 22 of the past 25 days have had measurable precipitation. The average days of precipitation for May are only nine. DIA has measured 3.72 inches of rain so far this month, already surpassing the average of 1.67 inches.
This has caused a delay in the opening of Paradice Island Pool at Pioneer Park. Much of the remaining work requires dry conditions in order for the plaster and concrete to cure. The city and the contractor are analyzing the schedule and doing everything possible to escalate the completion of construction. A new opening date will be announced in the coming weeks. In the meantime, please alert your friends and neighbors that the pool will be opening later than expected due to weather.
