COMMERCE CITY, COLO. (Nov. 5, 2015) – The City of Commerce City and the Commerce City Cultural Council have started to implement the public art project associated with the voter-approved capital improvement program. The first of the public art project to be launched will be located at Pioneer Park, 5950 Holly Street. Qualifications are requested from artists and/or artist teams interested in creating site-specific public artworks(s). Qualifications are being accepted through November 30, 2015 and can be submitted online through CaFÉ™ (www.callforentry.org).

The Art Selection Committee will review all complete applications. A short list of semifinalists will be invited to prepare and present a design proposal. A finalist may be selected from the semifinalists’ proposals and recommended to the Cultural Council for approval. Upon the Cultural Council’s approval, the finalist proposal may be presented to City Council for final approval.
