Suspect is being sought in officer-involved shooting

COMMERCE CITY, COLO. (November 8, 2015) – The Commerce City Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a suspect and vehicle that were involved in a shooting of a Commerce City police officer this morning.

At about 7:10 a.m., an officer contacted a male driver in the 9700 block of Peoria St. While the officer was talking to the driver, the driver fired one shot hitting the officer in the torso. The suspect is described as a white male in his late 40s/early 50s, with brown hair, thin build, wearing glasses and a black and white scarf around his neck. The Commerce City Police Department has requested the assistance of the Adams County Critical Incident to team to assist with the investigation.
