Help Commerce City “Spread the Love” with donations of peanut butter and/or jelly jars Jan. 19-Feb. 14, 2016, and support the Adams County Emergency Food Bank in Commerce City.
“The annual food drive is a great way to continue giving back to the community,” said ZachRoth, Commerce City recreation coordinator. “The goal is to fill the post-holiday donation gap when requests are at the highest demand with non-perishable and protein rich items.”
According to Hunger Free Colorado, nearly one in seven Coloradans struggle with hunger, facing times when there is not enough money to buy food. The Food Bank serves approximately 4,000 families each month, many of which are located in Commerce City. Now in its ninth year, Spread the Love has provided more than 4,300 jars of this staple to help bridge the seasonal void.Public drop-off locations include: • Older/Adult Senior Center lobby, 6060 E. Parkway Dr. • Commerce City Recreation Center lobby, 6060 E. Parkway Dr. • Commerce City Civic Center lobby, 7887 E. 60th Ave.
The goal is to collect over 1,000 jars to be delivered to the food bank on Wednesday, Feb. 17. Thanks for spreading the love and making a difference in Commerce City.
