Colorado’s largest Memorial Day parade enters its 52nd year of honoring veterans Monday, May 30, 2016. The 1.5-mile parade route kicks off at 10 a.m. at E. 64th Avenue and Newport Street, ending near the recreation center at 6060 E. Parkway Drive.
The family friendly, annual Memorial Day parade honors veterans for their service to the country. This year’s event will feature a skydiving tribute to our troops and more than 100 military units, bands, floats, antique cars and horse entries. Prior to the parade, the city will host a ceremony at Veteran’s Memorial Park at 9:30 a.m. to recognize this year’s grand marshals Raymond Brionez, a World War II veteran; Homero Lopez, a Vietnam Veteran; and Arthur Saiz, a veteran who served 36 years in the Army. Designated media parking is located on Forest Drive, adjacent to Veteran’s Memorial Park, 6015 Forest Drive, Commerce City. This is controlled access so please show credentials when entering from E. 60th Avenue.
