The summer season kicks off with CommerceCity’s first neighborhood outreach of the season on June 9 at Fronterra Park, 10020 Joplin St.City staff is serving up all-beef hotdogs, chips, fresh veggies, and watermelon slices. New this year, children can take a ride around the park on a toy train ride. Children can also bounce around in inflatables, meet the magician and balloon artist, and get their faces painted. The whole family will enjoy high energy tunes from the Boogie Machine Band, sponsored by the E-470 Public Highway Authority.
Elected officials, city staff, local school districts, health organizations, developers, and representatives from area agencies and businesses are on hand to provide information about their programs and answer questions.. In total, there are 40 exhibitors from the Commerce City community.
“The neighborhood outreach is a fun-filled night for the whole family with free food, activities, and music,” said Derrick Tripp, recreation supervisor of senior programs and facilities. “We invite residents to join community leaders and service organizations and learn about services and programs.”
