Wayside horn damaged at E. 96th Avenue and Highway 2

The wayside horn system serving the BNSF railway crossing near the intersection of E. 96th Avenue and Highway 2 is currently not functioning due to severe damage from an automotive crash this week. Federal regulations require all trains to sound their horns as they approach the crossing until the wayside horn system is repaired.

The city is working to evaluate the damage and coordinate the necessary repairs to get the wayside horn system running as soon as possible. More information about the duration of these repairs will be provided as it becomes available.

We appreciate the patience of nearby residents affected by this service outage and the resulting train horn noise.
