Commerce City Pro Tem to Chair CML Policy Committee

August 24, 2016, Denver, CO— Commerce City Mayor Pro Tem René Bullock was selected by CML Executive Board President William Bell, Montrose City Manager, to chair the Colorado Municipal League’s Policy Committee. The term begins immediately and lasts through June 2017.

“Residents expect municipal government to operate efficiently and effectively. One of our tools to meet that expectation is ensuring municipalities can locally make decisions to govern community operations,” said Bullock. “I’m honored to serve as the policy committee chair and advocate for the important issues facing cities and towns across Colorado.”

With over 125 members representing municipalities and municipal professionals around the state, the CML Policy Committee is the primary policy-making body for the League. Positions on issues and legislation taken by the Policy Committee are sent to the CML Board, which will set CML’s legislative agenda and official positions on legislation or policy issues.

The 2016-17 CML Policy Statement can be viewed at http://www.cml.org/Legislative/Policy-Development/CML Policy-Statement/

CML is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization established in 1923 and represents the municipal interests of 269 cities and towns at the State Capitol. For more information on the Colorado Municipal League, please visit www.cml.org or call 303-831-6411.
