Construction should take place within two weeks to repair the Peoria Street bridge over the Burlington Ditch and re-open the stretch of Peoria Street/Peoria Parkway between E. 112th Avenue and E. 105th Way. This stretch of road has been closed since June 21 due to bridge damage. The city is currently awaiting a work permit from Farmers Reservoir and Irrigation Company (FRICO), owners of the Burlington Ditch, and will start construction as soon as possible.
In the meantime, the suggested detour route around the closure is still to use Havana Street and E. 106th Avenue to the west in order to connect E. 104th and E. 112th avenues. The city would like to thank commuters for their patience during this unexpectedly lengthy closure.
