Commerce City is breaking ground on a new recreation center near E. 112th Avenue and Potomac Street on Saturday, Oct. 15. The city is hosting a public reception at the Bison Grill (15700 E. 112th Ave.) beginning at 10 a.m. and staff will be present to discuss the project with detailed design displays.
Can’t make it to the event? The ceremony will also be live-streamed on the city’s Facebook page starting at 10:30 a.m. Join us online at www.facebook.com/CommerceCity and celebrate as the city breaks ground on the new recreation center.
The new recreation center project includes an indoor pool, gymnasium with walking/jogging track, weights/fitness area, dance/aerobics studio and site infrastructure. See the schematic site plan. Construction is expected to complete in spring 2018 (weather dependent).
The new recreation center is one of five projects in Commerce City’s capital improvement program, made possible from a 2013 voter-approved 1-percent sales and use tax for new parks, recreation and road projects. Visit www.c3gov.com/QCL for more information.
