Pavement repair projects underway this month

Road improvement projects are taking place this month on both residential and arterial streets through city’s annual pavement maintenance program, which uses a rotating cycle to repair streets around the city. Most of this year’s projects are taking place in the northwest part of the city.

NEIGHBORHOOD STREETS
Residential streets in the neighborhoods below are being resurfaced with “slurry seal,” which requires closing individual neighborhood streets for no more than one day. Work schedules for these neighborhoods are approximate and subject to change without notice.

- Eagle Creek (Oct. 10-17)
- River Oaks (Oct. 10-18)
- Stillwater (Oct. 10-15)
- River Run (cul-de-sacs only, Oct. 15-17)
- Belle Creek (Oct. 18-24)
- Dunes Park (Oct. 18-24)

While this work is taking place, vehicles are not allowed to drive or park on the street and driveways will not be accessible. “No Parking” signs will be posted in advance of all closures. Please respect all street closures and signage, as driving or walking on wet slurry seal before the road has reopened will damage the new surface and stain car finishes, driveways and shoes.

ARTERIAL STREETS
Resurfacing projects on some of the city’s key commuter streets are also taking place this month. This construction will not require full closures of the below streets. Commuters should expect lane closures and areas of rough pavement, while some businesses will experience temporary obstructions to driveway access. Schedules below are approximate and subject to change.

- E. 72nd Avenue between Highway 2 and Quebec Parkway (late Sept. to early Nov.)
- E. 96th Avenue between I-76 and Alton Court (Oct. 17-28)
- E. 120th Avenue between I-76 and Buckley Road (late Oct. to early Dec.)
- Fulton Street between E. 106th Avenue and E. 107th Place (Oct. 17-26

Please respect all signs and barricades and be alert while traveling through construction zones for the safety of drivers, pedestrians and work crews.
