Grant funding available for local nonprofits

City awarded $120,000 to organizations in 2016

Beginning today, the Quality Community Foundation (QCF) is accepting applications for the 2017 grant program which supports a variety of important community causes including emergency housing, senior assistance, healthcare, victim services and fighting hunger.

The QCF grant program supports non-profit and service organizations that serve Commerce City residents and by doing so, the Foundation furthers the city’s vision of creating a “Quality Community for a Life Time.”

QCF grants provide funding for a wide variety of programs such as:
  • Emergency housing for homeless families
  • Senior programs, which provide volunteer services and meals to seniors
  • Health care for young people
  • Advocacy and emergency assistance for victims of domestic violence
  • Services that provide care for the mentally ill
  • Funding for local food banks
Last year, the city awarded 25 grants totaling $120,000 to various local non-profit organizations. Grants are open to non-profit organizations who can demonstrate that they serve the Commerce City community.

Applications can be found on the City’s website www.c3gov.com/qcf . Grant applications are due March 3, 2017 by 4 p.m. Award distribution will be in early April. All applications should be submitted to the Quality Community Foundation, 7887 E. 60th Avenue, Commerce City, CO 80022.
