Boards & Commissions
Get Involved LogoParticipating in boards or commissions help our city address community needs. Commerce City's boards and commissions have specific responsibilities as detailed in the city charter and the municipal code.

Each board and commission has different roles and responsibilities. Terms of office, membership size, qualifications, and meeting schedule vary for each board and commission. Openings for vacancies on boards are advertised in local newspapers and on the city’s website. Members are appointed by the City Council.

Agendas & Minutes
Agendas & minutes are published to the city website for all city boards and commissions. View past and future scheduled meeting information.

Application Process for Boards & Commissions
Published openings are listed under each board and commission and applications are always accepted even if no vacancy is posted. Apply online or print and deliver your application to the city clerk's office.

If there is a published opening, all applications are scheduled for an interview with city council. City Council will appoint, by resolution, members to each boards and commission vacancy. If a vacancy has not been published, applications will be held for a time until a new vacancy is posted.

Advisory Committees
Advisory committees are occasionally used to provide input on a specific topic and typically have a limited time period. Learn more about the city's current advisory committees.
