HomeCelebrating 70 Years of Commerce City
This year marks the 70th Anniversary of when Commerce City was incorporated. On July 8, 1952, a number of area communities, such as Adams City and Rose Hill, voted to incorporate and become Commerce Town. The young municipality annexed Derby in 1962, growing large enough to be called Commerce City.
There is plenty of rich history to be proud of spanning the last seven decades – and beyond. Throughout 2022, the city will be celebrating this milestone in a variety of fun, interactive and unique ways! The city is a thrilled to commemorate Commerce City’s exciting history and accomplishments while recognizing the best parts of our community – our residents, neighborhoods and local businesses.
