City of Commerce City, CO
HomeMarijuana Licensing
On June 1, 2015, city council approved an ordinance repealing the temporary ban on retail marijuana allowing businesses to begin the process of obtaining a retail marijuana business license with the city beginning June 2, 2015.
There is no cap on the number of marijuana businesses allowed, but the city has identified specific areas where marijuana operations can exist. The city has adopted a new licensing program for both medical and retail marijuana businesses and amended its land development, building, and fire codes to support safe and thoughtful marijuana regulation. To operate legally, marijuana businesses will need to follow the city’s regulations as well as those of the state.
