Need help improving your home? The Housing Authority provides low-interest loans to qualifying homeowners for home repair and improvement projects such as electrical rewiring and plumbing, furnace and roof repair.

Loans of 3.5% to 5% are made available for the rehabilitation of deteriorating owner-occupied residential properties. 

Applicant Eligibility

Any individual(s) who has owned the property for at least six months prior to the date of application, with no conflict of interest and has the ability to repay the loan is eligible provided they meet the income eligibility guidelines:

Property Eligibility

Owner-occupied properties must be located within the City of Commerce City and in need of repair.

The following types of repairs can be made if costs do not exceed the $10,000 loan limit:

Home Repair Programs

Another option for home repair assistance is the city's Home Repair Programs (HRPs). Income-qualified Commerce City residents may be eligible for one or more HRPs as part of the city’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. Qualified residents may be able to get assistance with minor home repairs, weatherization improvements, or exterior painting.
