Local Schools

Commerce City is served by two school districts and a charter school. Nearly 60% of the city's population over the age of 25 has at least a high school diploma and many have post secondary degrees. More information on these organizations is listed below.

Adams County School District 14

The district serves the historic community of Commerce City, an area encompassing approximately 33,000 residents. District 14 has 13 schools that offer choices to meet the diverse needs of more than 7,300 students.

27J Schools

The district covers the northern area of Commerce City, all of Brighton and parts of Thornton – an area encompassing approximately 78,000 residents. School District 27J has nine schools that serve 4,400 students in Commerce City.

Community Leadership Academy

The Community Leadership Academy is a K-8 Colorado State Charter School that serves nearly 600 students. The academy is a school of choice, meaning students will be admitted on a first come, first served basis once priority enrollment requirements are concluded.
