  • Reduce repeat calls of service by identifying and addressing crime trends

National Night Out

Header National Night Out

National Night Out is held annually on the first Tuesday in August in neighborhoods throughout the city. The event promotes neighborhood unity and a strong police-community partnership to build a safer community. Residents and organizations are encouraged to invite their neighbors for block parties, cookouts or other events, with Commerce City police officers and other first responders stopping by to say hello!

This year’s NNO events are planned for Tuesday, August 6, 2024, and start around 6 p.m.

What does a National Night Out event look like?

That’s completely up to you and your neighbors! In years’ past, we’ve seen neighborhoods organize ice cream socials, host pizza parties, have all of the residents bring their BBQs into their driveways for a cookout, or just meet in someone’s yard for cookies and lemonade. The idea is to customize your neighborhood event, so it encourages and invites participation from those who live around you.

  • Send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back

Commander Meetings

To better connect with our community and discuss your local questions and concerns, CCPD holds community meetings. CCPD uses two geographical patrol regions to help speed up response times and provide more localized service for residents throughout the city. Community meetings will take place with our northern and southern patrol area commanders and many other members of the police department.

Southern patrol area meetings focus on areas south of E. 88th Avenue, while northern area meetings are focused north of 88th.
