Call if you can, text if you can't

When it is not safe or you are unable to call 911, you can now send text messages to 911 to reach emergency help.

Voice calls are still the best way for dispatchers to quickly get the most important information. Examples of when to text 911 include: for deaf/non-verbal callers, areas of poor cell signal, or situations where silence is critical to your safety.

Non-Emergency Dispatch: 303-288-1535

To report issues that do not require an immediate response, use the non-emergency dispatch line. Examples of when to call the non-emergency number include:

  • Reporting a crime that has already occurred (where suspects are no longer in the vicinity)
  • Animal control complaints
    • For questions about impounded pets, call the Adams County Animal Shelter at 303-288-3294
  • Noise complaints
  • Abandoned vehicle reports
  • Fireworks reports

Commerce City Community Crime Map

The new Commerce City Community Crime Map allows residents to view general locations and basic information about crimes in the city. Users can filter this data by date range, type of crime, location, etc. and see analytics to get a better idea about crimes in the areas where you spend time in the city

Learn more about the map on the Crime Reports & Stats page.

Flock Safety Technology

Commerce City CO PD uses Flock Safety technology to capture objective evidence without compromising on individual privacy. Commerce City CO PD utilizes retroactive search to solve crimes after they've occurred. Additionally, Commerce City CO PD utilizes real time alerting of hotlist vehicles to capture wanted criminals. In an effort to ensure proper usage and guardrails are in place, they have made the below policies and usage statistics available to the public.

Fireworks Violation Reporting

This website's intended use is for the reporting and documenting of illegal fireworks usage complaints for future enforcement action. Please Do NOT call 911 to report illegal fireworks. It's important that we keep 911 telephone lines clear for life-threatening emergencies. You may call (303) 288-1535, the police non-emergency number, to report the use of fireworks in your neighborhood. ADCOM911 asks for your patience when calling the non-emergency number on busy nights like the Fourth of July or New Year's Eve when call volume is high.
