Commerce City honored seven local businesses that achieved great success last year at the tenth annual Commerce City Business Appreciation Awards event. Businesses were recognized for their positive contributions to the city such as leadership, growth, capital investment and entrepreneurial spirit.

Lane closures to affect traffic on northbound Quebec Street
Starting Thursday, March 1, drivers on northbound Quebec Street between E. 56th and E. 63rd avenues should expect to encounter lane closures and traffic delays as pavement repair work is completed.

Railroad repairs close E. 88th Ave. Monday and Tuesday
E. 88th Avenue is closed between Brighton Road and Rosemary Street on Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 26 and 27, as crews from the Union Pacific Railroad repair a broken rail near the crossing.

Thank you for helping Spread the Love in 2018
Each January and February the Spread the Love campaign encourages the donation of peanut butter and jelly jars to be distributed to local food banks. The program is supported by food donations from city employees and the public.

Sand Creek Regional Greenway trail closure

Local students can receive up to $4,000 in scholarship money
The Quality Community Foundation provides annual scholarship opportunities for Commerce City residents. Each recipient receives funding for post-secondary education up to $4,000 over a 4-year period. Last year, a total of $8,000 was awarded to two local students.

Utility work closes lanes on E. 56th Avenue through Friday

Peña Boulevard lane shift in place starting Thursday night
With work on the Tower-Peña ramp and widening project picking up, drivers on westbound Peña Boulevard will encounter a minor lane shift and lower speed limit at the interchange with Tower Road for the next several months.

Renovations of Eagle Pointe Recreation Center Takes Flight
Commerce City celebrated the start of the Eagle Pointe Recreation Center renovation with a smashing community event and ceremonial kickoff Sunday. Interior construction activities begin February 12, with renovations to the lobby and entryway affecting building access.
